Request content
To serve a request, we send its content to the inference infrastructure that runs the model. We ask that infrastructure not to log requests, but we cannot independently verify what it retains.
New API keys do not store prompts or completions. Change content storage per key on the API Keys page; changes apply to subsequent requests. Storage off has no surcharge. Existing keys start with storage on. Browser Chat and the Mac app store content unless account Zero Data Retention overrides it.
When stored, prompts and completions are encrypted for up to 30 days, solely for abuse prevention, support, debugging, and billing disputes. Access is restricted and audited. Content is deleted automatically afterward; backup copies may persist for up to seven additional days.
Zero Data Retention
Turn on Zero Data Retention in Settings to stop storing prompts and completions. It covers every API key and Chat on your account, applies to requests made after you turn it on, and adds 20% to every token price unless you have a paid monthly plan. Saving chats is off while it is on. Usage metadata is still recorded for billing, and each request in Usage shows whether it ran with Zero Data Retention.
Usage and saved chat
With key content storage off, traces and usage metadata are still recorded. Usage metadata records the model, token counts, cost, timing, and errors. Chats you choose to save stay in your account until you delete them.
Delete saved chats in Chat. To delete your account or ask about your data, email support@redrouter.org.
